Hey Guys,
I just got home from the event between Ralf Souquet and Pan Xiao Ting in Shanghai. The Shanghai Beer King v Queen 9-Ball Pool Challennge !

Sorry not great quality...but it was a quality day.

They played off scratch as Pan Xiao Ting didn't want a head start.

Pan won the lag and broke and scratched. Ralf took this and his next and then Pan Xiao Ting broke and scratched again...ouch...so she ended up giving Ralf a 3 frame start.

From there it went:

15-7 Ralf Wins.

It was a quality game. Very few errors. Pan Xiao Ting broke with as much power but lost control a couple of times. She was also a bit weaker on her safety game.

I was quite proud of her for fighting back after an unlucky start to get to 10-6. It was great experience for her.

Ralf took the game very seriously as you'd expect from a seasoned pro. He played our league players after the match and gave them all some special memories. Most got just a break shot :mad: :eek: :p

Looks like it was a great event; congratulations! I'm jealous of your league members.

Was there a prize for winning? Perhaps an evening out with Ms. Xiaoting or 6 figures like IPT?

Thanks mate, the league players are loving at so are the sponsors.

There was no prize money, only accolades, but I assure you both players were playing their hardest for obvious reasons that no-one wants to play bad on a televised match that millions will see.

They were both paid appearance money of course. I can't disclose the exact figure, but it was in the tens of millions :p
 
Congrats to Ralf !! But for Xiao Ting, it was nice to have a good match and the final result 15-7 isn't anything to be ashamed for.

Was the match taped and is it going to be televised ?

Yes, it was taped and I hope to get it online for viewing in the next 2 weeks. I'll let everyone here know so you can watch :D

Nice one of Ralf with TV screen in the background.

We had about 12 TV screens around the venue showing the TV feed.

Am I the only one who thinks it takes a long time for your pages to load? Is this because of the red background or not or do you have a slow internet connection? My connection is relatively fast so it's not something at this end.

The red background is only about 80kb I think. Could be that there are a lot of photos on the page and that the server is in China.

Good thing it was a long race, because a race to 7 wouldn't have been fair. :rolleyes:
