Ran a 41 yesterday on a pro am

It's just a hobby, but a fun one.

Well my high run up to this point has been 42 on an 8ft with 5inch pockets and simonis. I scared that run yesterday with a 41 on the 9ft pro am. I missed a long 3 degree stop shot that rattled the pocket. That was my key ball for a very nice break shot. Its funny though, I wanna break 50 and I honestly think I could have easly kep going till 70's or so. The shot I missed is one I would make 8 out of 10 trys. I just felt like it was no big deal until after i missed it and realized how many I ran. I dont count balls but I do try to get into that "next" rack.

Once i run my first 50, I will try to post up some videos so I can get some critiques! All kidding aside, i just want to play better and i know all of you can help me with that.

Nice run.

Staying focused on every shot is a main factor in running balls in stragiht pool. We all take it for granted from time to time and we end up missing a fairly easy shot or screw up position to stop a big run.

Certain shots come up that you have to pay a lot of attention to, especially the ones leading up to the breakball.

Get that 50 on video so we all can watch it.

Thats exactly what happened Bill. i have a preshot routine but sometimes my tempo speeds up a little to much and I get careless. This has been a weakness in my game that straight pool is adressing very nicely. I need to figure out how to get my camcorder hooked up to my laptop as well. What recording software do you use?

I use a Panasonic GS90P mini DV camcorder connected directly to my laptop with a firewire. No tape in the camcorder, ( no battery, just keep it pluged in) it records directly to the laptop via Windows Movie Maker. You can edit out what you don't want and save the run to a file or you can just delete everything when your done.

The camcorder runs whenever I am playing because it is so easy.

I save everything above 42 for myself and everything over 100 for Schmidt.

My camcorder is a mini DV as well but my laptop is not fire wire capable. I like my camcorder and don't want to by another one. I might end up getting another laptop first.

Nice Shooting !

Nice Shooting....

start with the camera now, so you can adjust and get comfortable with it.

you never know when you are gonna break through the 50 mark, which will lead to the 60,70,80 mark.

plus we would all love to see you shoot, no matter what the number is

Steve
