Did LJ and Mike Sigel ever get paid?

This feels more like a hall of fame tour than an actual showcase of the current top talent.

If the tour is to have legitamacy shouldn't there be qualifying events to ensure the best players compete for the big bank roll?

Where is the media coverage?

If dollar one has not been realized from advertising doesn't this smack of some tax scam?

Are you feeling like a desperate sucker yet?

I think Sweet Marrisa is doing more to help pool than the IPT.

It seems to be still not very well defined with a tournament scheduled just 2 month's away. As of Friday they are yet to sign anything with the convention center according the center. They were sent a contract and some dates penciled in for them but that is about it. They never signed or sent them back confirming anything so far. I see the thing happening in some form or another but it doesn't seem at this point like a well oiled machine. We will have to wait and see, I will go if it takes place I live just a couple of hours away. They need to make some public announcements to update what is going on and address some of the rumors. I would hate to see foreign players make plans to attend only to have the thing cancel or be postponed at the last minute

*cough*sputter* Was reading with interest your list of legitimate questions and that last comment kind of came out of nowhere!

Allison Fisher was offered to play Mike Sigel.. She refused because of the playing conditions. She want Simonis no break box and maybe a few other things. Mike Sigel may not be what he used to be. But Mike is still a great player... I think he could still compete and with the new conditions of the new tour.. I bet Mike is in the money a whole lot more than players you think that are better.. can not wait for this to really happen.. The IBT..

It would be tough, the dedication to compete at that level has not been in him for years. In fact in the past he has acted like he hates the game and it was just a means to an end. It takes more then that to win tournaments, he may turn out to be pray for the young talented players and you will see him go off the air and quit the game again for good. He does not like losing and just getting in the money would torture him, can we all say ego.

From everything I've ever heard Mike Sigel say about the tour, his beef was about the lack of prize money. He just didn't think it was worth all of the stress, travel, and being away from his family. We'll see what happens now that the money (hopefully) is there for the taking.

I totally agree with you and I too heard him say time and and time again, that it was totally not worth the stress and hassle of touring when he could make more away from the game with less stress and effort. But he is still the most competitive player around and can win on sheer will to win alone, he has a killer instinct and he does hate to loose, but he never stopped playing pool because he hates it, he stopped because he is smart and didn't want to travel all over the place for chump change when he could sell cues and give private lessons (hence how he meet Kevin) and appearances.

I'm almost certain we have not seen the best of Mike Sigel, the best may be yet to come ;) There are other players out there that have not shown there best yet either, people would be amazed how playing for big money can motivate some and if pool starts getting more spot lite that too can drive a person to be better. Lets just hope it catches on and this can work for future players as well as the current.
