When I think of the caliber of play both Corey and Shane are capable of, it reminds me of the football saying of "Any given sunday". I think most people are surprised by the margin Shane won by, but hey it happened. Is Shane better than Corey? During that match he was. I reserve my opinion of who has the edge until they have played more than one match. That being said, I am kind of a Shane fan. I could be talking out of my ass, but I'm willing to bet Shane practiced more for this match. I respect someone who is constantly trying to improve. If I am right, I hope this lights a fire under CD's ass, if I am wrong I apologize to CD for assuming. Anyways, I just get sick of the this guy is better than this guy/gal stuff. On a positive note I was telling some people about the match and they said, " I wish I could have seen that match." I told them they could of online. So the interest is there. I hope there are many more.

Ledrums,
You raise a good point. Let's add the best prepared to his praise....I'm not sure there is an American player that can out prepare Shane.....nice package huh?

Lets give this match the credit it deserves.. It wasn't a race to 9,11 or 20..
It was a race to 100... This was like playing 10 sets.. Or came out being like winning (3) 10 ahead sets.. This was like any given FRIDAY and SATURDAY.. Shane wasn't just having a good day... Was just more prepared for this match.. Both Players are World Class and this isn't any knock on how good Cory is..

I only saw around 45 games, but that was enough.
Corey played world-class pool just to lose 70-100.
I hadn't seen that gear before that I saw from Shane.
I think nobody could have beaten him that weekend, nobody.

I thought in the World 10-Ball championships (semis and finals), that Shane really showed the gear he was capable of. Then he repeated it in the Action Challenge.

I'm with the other poster who said that there should be a rematch. Cory is a monster too!

I don't think shane practiced much more than he always does. The kid is driven and is always practicing. I'm sure he did practice with this match in mind, though. I was told he spent the week before the match over in Minnesota so he could practice on a Diamond rather than the table he normally practices on.

I wonder, since ten ball is not super duper popular yet, if maybe shane set a record of most consecutive 10 ball break and runs. I read that he had a 14 game streak where corey got to the table only twice. If this is true maybe he set some sort of record?
