Rare Libra cue for sale

Apparently this is a relatively early Libra cue -- possibly one of the first few they made according to Jack Potter, one of the cue maker partners in Libra. It has been owned by a good friend of mine for quite a while and he is now ready to part with it. He's just not computer savvy and has asked me to sell it for him. He would like $1000 -- that's probably a good deal if it is that rare a Libra, which is a fairly rare cue in any case. The condition is well used but not abused & it appears to have its original finish, wrap, ferules, etc. Please judge from the photos or ask questions. I am not a dealer -- just a good friend of a non-computer savvy local player headed for retirement. You might even be able to ask the cue maker Jack Potter himself a question because he occasionally posts here on AZ as jackpot.

If this does not go for the asking amount, I will pass any offers along to the owner and get back to you as soon as I can.

PS. I reserve the right not to sell if I cannot get a reasonable confirmation of your reputation as a buyer, or if you are out of the US. Otherwise, obviously first come first served or highest offer gets priority. Thank you!

I've had a few questions about the specifications for this cue. Here is what I come up with. On my postal scale it weighs just under 20 0z assembled -- broken down about 16/4 butt/shaft. If you need more accurate than that, I will need to take the cue to someone with more precise equipment. The butt is 29" long as are both shafts, so the cue is 58" assembled, not counting the bumper and tip itself. Both shafts are 12mm or close to 12mm -- one looks like 11.9mm as you can see in the photo.

Regarding straightness, rolled on the table felt, no wiggle at all in the butt. There is a very slight variation in the clearance space visible between the felt and one shaft -- looks like less than 1/32" inch. Second shaft rolls close to perfect. Assembled rolls very well on felt with only the very slight shaft variation noted above.

There is one small chip in the butt cap next to the bumper and one small flake off the finish in the butt -- these are the worst of the small nicks and dings that you would expect for a well used cue that is 20 something years old and never been refinished. I added a pic to see the worst of it. The stick hits very solidly.

If someone wants to snap this rare cue up, I will cover the shipping and insurance out of the $1000.
