Rare Sneeky Pete Mike Webb/Dan Janes

I have what I think is a rare cue. Mike Webb built this beautiful sneeky pete with natural linen phenolic joint and butt cap. Alt ivory Hoppe ring. I was told that the blank came from Dan Janes. How many Joss sneeky petes have you seen with sharp points?

In any event, the cocobolla is very dark with beautiful figure. My 1mp photos do it no justice. Big radial pin, 12.75mm tip with long pro taper. The forearm is very plain straight grained maple.

Butt is 15.7oz and shaft is 3.5oz. 19.2 cue weight. The shaft grain isn't especially tight but there is some light tiger curl to the wood. The cue sounds great. Moderate play on the shaft, the butt still looks new.

Shaft has a ding and I will try to steam it out before shipping the cue unless the buyer has a lathe setup.

This is a lot of cue for $200 delivered. Paypal to drawman623@aol.com

I don't know why people do not listen and keep the same story, This cue was brand new from Joss about 2 months ago. It had nothing to do with me other than replacing another sneaky pete that got damaged. It does not have the Joss logo on it, it was an option, I had to replace a cue and got it quicker because they hadn't put the logo on it, There is everybody singing the same song now, Stop changing the story. And to Gian, You and I talked about this cue on the phone when it happened so I'm quite surprised about your title of this thread.

Sometimes you need to "storytell" to sell something !!!!!!

When did Joss start using these kinds of blanks. I thought all their cues were CNC. Did the cue have the 3/8 pin in it already or did you do the ringwork and replace the pin.

It is a stock Joss !!!!

If you call Joss you have the pin option .It came as you see it.You would need to find out from Joss when they started to offer this style.

the story behind this cue is as follows:

mike webb was nice enough to get this cue for me. i had the option of a radial pin or staindard 5/16x14 joss pin. considering i have 2 other radial pin cues, i choose radial. i never played with the cue, a friend of mine needed a cue, sold it to him.... that friend in turn bought an older mike webb cue and gian got this cue in trade. IT IS A JOSS! look at their website it shows the exact cue.

i have to appologize to mike as i feel im the reason for confusion here, but i never mislead anyone in telling them it was a webb. its a joss

thanks!

Looking for a rock to crawl under

There is nothing more frustrating to me than getting the important details wrong. Such is never my intent. Obviously, Mike has the correct information here. We all know that a post using his name would be immediately seen by Mike, so please don't feel like the cue was deliberately misrepresented.

When mike and I discussed the cue, he said it was one of Danny's, but I took that to mean a blank from Danny. Mike builds his own cues, he doesn't deal in other maker's work, but as he said, he got this one in a hurry to help a customer out of a jam. I was sure he meant that he finished the product. My mistake. Regrets to all.

The good news is that the details got straightened out before someone bought the cue.

The other good news is that it is still a nice sneaky for sale.

Happy Holidays!!!!

I cant find it on their site. Will you post the link if you can?

Thanks,

Not all Joss are cnc'd. I have 2 or 3 right now with Sharp points and handmade by Dan Janes. Alot of the custom cues from Dan and Stephen come this way. they usually come with a bit higher of a price tag than the production cues.
Usually over $800

Congratulations! You got your first bonk on the head from the great....and I mean great Mike Webb. Honestly, he's the nicest, most honest, most wonderfully stubborn SOB I know. Which makes him an absolute jewel.

And for the goofball who said you need to "tell a story" to sell something, you need a story alright. I've been seeing all sorts of "stories" on here from ninies trying to sell things they know nothing about and it makes me puke! Simple resolution. If you don't know what you are selling, say so. And ALWAYS offer a return policy.

Rare sneaky......sure. Bridge anyone ? (I meant the Brooklyn)
