rare TADD cue?

OK... here's the short story. I obtained ownership of this cue 10 years ago in a pool hall. The previous owner had been given the cue 15(?) years earlier as a gift from his wife and inlaws.
I've played with it here and there in pool bars not knowing what I had. Recently I was told by a friend that I am possibly the owner of a rare and collectable cue.
Can anybody give me some history and info about this TADD?
It's in superb condition, 100% original (including the case), never been refinished, etc.. Please view photos and let me know. Any info is appreciated.

Tad Cues

Fred...You have a Tad, not Tadd. It is made by Tad Kohara, a S. CA cuemaker, who is still alive, and can give you information about the cue. Looks to me to be 70's-80's vintage (cues made after 1978 have his "TD" logo engraved on the butt cap). It looks like one of his earlier cues, but it is not rare, and it's not even close to his fancy cues. It is in very nice condition. I'd value it probably between $800-$1200...but I'm not a Tad expert. He could certainly tell you. Here's the info from the 2nd Blue Book: Tad Kohara, Tad's Custom Cues, 10533 Dale Ave., Stanton, CA 90680, 714-995-1644. Someone here will know it this info is still current. Hope this helps...

There is a three digit number stamped into the wood. The first digit is not clear, may even be a letter. It's followed by '24'.
Ken Hoshide did not sell me the cue. An out-of-control drunk gave it to me when he didn't have the cash to settle-up bar table stakes in Lakewood (or was it Bellflower?). After two attempts to contact him and exchange the cue for the $100 bucks he had owed me failed, I finally claimed ownership. A patron of the same bar dropped $500.00 cash on the table hoping for a quick sale. That was my first hint that I likely had a very nice cue.
By the way, whats the significance of the numbers on the butt?
Not sure I want to sell but may be interested in a trade, lessons, etc..
