i need some help. i am looking for a rating system for handicaping tournaments, that i can get off the computer. it's for 9 ball and the rating numbers go from 0 to 160 or something like that. we use to have one at my old hall but thats no longer around. so if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you're thinking of the USPPA. However, that system is maintained through their "office" by submitting scoresheets. You can contact Tony Annigoni at 1-800-471-1164. Their website is http://usppa.com

The system used by the NPL is described fully in links (about the 9th one down) on the "misc files" page at www.sfbilliards.com and it's easy to run, free (unless you want someone to do the paper work for you) and creates fair handicaps. A word of warning, though: most of the good players won't like fair handicaps.

im sorry i must have left this a little vague. this tournament is not usppa tournament. it is just a regular tournament that is a race to six but handicapped. rating wise the lowest rating used is a 15 for women 20 for men and we have gone up to 130 . i hope this is more helpful to those trying to help me. thanks for the help so far...
