I have had my bk2 for about two months and it seems to be a rattle in the joint when i break..If i tap the shaft the rattle seems to be coming from the joint..My friend has a brand new bk2 sport and it has the same rattle..can anyone shed any light on this subject before i send it back????

check the weight bolt first, if it still rattles then it might have loose metal at the joint.

I have a BK2 and a 4k4 and if you bounce them on thier but they both make a rattle like thier broken. Doesn't seem to effect thier play any but not quite right.

I use a BK2 w/ two shafts. One phenolic, the other leather. I haven't had anything rattle at all. Respectfully, I'm not sure how "normal" this is.

i had the same problem with mine after a couple of months use, as others have stated you need to tighten the weight bolt at the bottom of the cue and it should be perfect, nce you do this that should be it for good, i fixed mine about a year ago and its been perfect since

Weight bolt

Many cuemakers will lightly glue the weight bolt in to keep it from coming 'undone' with a glue that will hold, but can be broken without much trouble.

Production cues aren't usually glued.

It's funny that you all should talk about this , because I have the same rattle in my BK2 I've checked everything out on mine and I don't know where it's coming from .

It Must be the The BK2 Death Rattle :D

I too have a BK2 and from time to time it does the rattle noise. I've always found that to be because the cue isn't screwed together tight enough. It goes away for me when I tighten it up more. Check to see if your cue is screwed together as tightly as possible. With a Uni-Loc we often miss that extra little turn to get it nice and tight.

bk2

thank you for all the quick responses..I thought i was going crazy or that i broke it..i will check the bolt as soon as i get to the hall....
