Ok, so a good old once over with the magic eraser mentioned earlier, which I tried, kind of worked for a couple of sessions. But actually, I do think these shafts are waxed or coated to a point where it is consistently a bother to me as the weather has become more humid here.
The same issue persisted. So I took it to the lathe last night. I used my Mezz shaft for reference. Leaving a couple inches at the bottom. This is what I should have done from the start.
I'd even tried a glove... That's how desperate I had gotten and I could feel the finish through the glove, whether that's just my brain or truly feeling the ick... Not sure. 3seconds gloves are awesome by the way. I'll keep them in my bag should I ever need them. But the same conditions with re-finished shaft were no trouble at all last night. They felt much nicer at the end of the session than they did when coated. Where I would notice some build up/stickiness.
