Re-stretching cloth

I re-covered my 8 ft Dynamo about 6 months ago with 860. I did it myself with the advice of a retired table mechanic. It is loose. I didn't do a good job. Can it be re-stretched and glued back? Or should I bite the bullet and buy new cloth?

Cloth is often reused when tables are moved so the simple answer is yes.
If you trimmed the cloth after you last installed it then there's not much to grab onto to stretch it.
A cloth puller or similar tool may help. Give it a go but if it doesn't work out then new cloth is in order.

Depending on how you trimmed it you should be able to restretch it with a good pair of pliers like the ones Dartman showed you above. depending on what glue you used you me need to let the glue set up longer and use a few clamps so you can get a good stretch in..

just remember to debur the edges or it will tear the cloth some people line the pliers with sandpaper to get a good bite on the cloth.

there about $20-25 a each at Osh Orchard supply most home depot dont carry them anymore. They are for use on sheetmetal mainly.

best of luck,
