It is easy to find good equipment a a fair price but CHEAP is the hard part.
If it is decent equipment that can do the job their are people who are wiling to pay a FAIR price for it.
Notice that you dont see much used repair equipment here or on eBay very often. The good stuff sells quickly.
How do you know what you will need to do what you want?

This is where you find out what you will need to do what you want.
It is the FIRST piece of equipment you need to buy.
Believe me when I tell you that a lathe is just the down payment to all the other stuff you will find you need.
If you are looking to do repair work for yourself and your friends and perhaps make a little pocket money at it then do yourself a favor and invest in good equipment that will sell easily when you find there isnt much money in it or you get bored with doing it.
If you can not or are unwilling to invest that much then forget it and go play some pool.
BTW: this question gets asked by just about every newbie that stops buy here.
At least once a week and sometimes more.
If you use the search function you will find pages and pages of good information about what you ask.

You can never have too much good equipment in your shop.
