I just got done viewing the real time scoring for the US OPEN and I noticed a lot of the players who appeared as losers advanced in the winners bracket. This was not an isolated case as it was this way on numerous results. Was the person responsible for updating the brackets drunk?

Yes. He lost to Gabica on the streaming table last night.

Many thanks to you and the forum, for the real time scoring. The only suggestion I'd make is to have it refresh less frequently, as I have to continuously press the page down key to recapture the screen. Keep up the good work!

It looks like the order of the names in the brackets don't correlate with the order of the numbers in the score. For instance, Earl Strickland is listed as the second player in his match, the match score was 11-1, and Earl advanced. It seems that every match was listed with the players in whatever order they were seeded, but the match score is listed with the winning score first, e.g., 11-3, 11-1, 11-F (whatever that means).

SO, they haven't "appeared as losers", the bracket score just doesn't reflect the order the names are listed in.

Yes, we are working on a different online bracket system. We have been using this one for a while and the scores are a little confusing as they are listed.

As for the speed of the update, I was told that anything over 59 seconds will not work on some blackberrys. This is why we set it at 59 seconds.

Walrus,

My thoughts exactly

An example would be nice. We do make mistakes on occasion, but I have not been informed of any so far today.

Mike

Mike,

An example would be as follows:

For the match between Rodney Morris and James Burgess it shows James Burgess 11 and Rodney Morris 2 but it shows Rodney advancing in the winners bracket. Any insight on this would be appreciated.

Thanks

No, it shows that the score was 11-2 and the player that won was the one who moved on to the right.
