Really a casemaker question

I hope the cuemakers don't get mad about this as it's really a question for casemakers. If so, I'll ask to have it moved.

I was wondering if there is a specification, grade brand whatever of foam padding that I can go by in selecting foam? I've seen closed cell and open cell that disintegrates in no time and other foam subjected to chemical abuse that seems to last forever.

John Collins (Barton) is who you need to talk to. I know that one time when he was describing the materials in his cases (Instroke) he mentioned that there was 10 different grades of foam and that he used the best where as others used a much cheaper and inferior type.

John is very supportive of other casemakers and most likely will be happy to help you out.

Nope, I'm no casemaker. I need something to repad this damn 1960's computer chair. I've recovered it twice but the foam is shot and something keeps poking me (won't bore you with where).
I think I may have some old computer packing foam somewhere. That and some batting should do the trick.
