..ok ..I'm about 1/4th of the way through. I bought my
860 ($210) -
new rubber UYLIN K55 PROFILE 92% GUM RUBBER (is UYLIN good? ) ($65.00)
2 - sets of facings (I"m only doubling the side-pockets) $10
1 set of baskets - $20.00

Man this table ('42) is old - the rails are pretty sad :(.

I've extended the rails into the corners - waiting for the glue to dry.

Tommorrow is SAND CITY ...tearing off the old rubber took some wood with it .. a good chunk in one spot - So I filled it with BONDO - Hope the cement still sticks good.

By tomorrow night - I'll have the BADEST table in Utah :) Corners will be less than 4-1/2 Extended rails with tight angles - sides will be doubleFaced only.

It's already dead level - I don't need to tweak that at all.

OH - 10,000 Thanx to Tablemechanic - he was very kind and tipped me into alot of great knowledge ... their ain't no mechanics in Utah - so ya hafTa become one uSelf if you want good work done :)

Dang !

I have 4-1/4" corners now - but I made my intake angle too darn steep! - Still running out - Even tho the pocket is "thin" - it accepts anything in its range and doesn't boggle out like it should :(

(soon as I find some batteries I'll post some snaps of it).

I have 4-1/4 mouth and 4" throat - not enough - should be about 3-3/4" throat to choak the ball up. This is good lesson for anyone listening out there - Don't change that angle very much at all (like they all tell you) - Extend out your rail and trim off about 1/8" from the throat ...or you'll kill the boggle.

The simonis and new rubber is AWESOME - That part makes it all worth while.

I guess I'll eventually yank the rails and gently "expose" the insides and put more wood in their ...without pulling the entire cloth off the rails (peel it back).

<< Probably should have bought that snooker table way back when eh>>

P.S. - For the side pockets: I double FACED them - side pockets are tight and awesome ...that part I did perfect :)

With new Simonis on the table the balls will slide in easy. As the table gets some play it will start to play tighter, balls will not slide in. Believe me, give it some time.

Good job and give me a call.

What Make Table

What kind of table is this you have here. I am currently refurbishing my table and it looks a lot like this table. My table is a Saunier Wilhelm. Can you post more pictures or email them to me of the legs and skirts of this table of yours. It look like you have done a wonderful job of it and I would love to see more photo's. kevinlindstrom@msn.com

rebuilding rails and cushions

I did the same thing you did about 5 years ago. I have a National Table. It played great, but I wanted to tighten the pockets. I am sorry I did. I used oak for the wood shim and it is falling apart. What did you use?
I replaced my super-speed cushions with K-55 fleetwood. Two of my rails now sound dead, I mean there is a thump sound to them. This drives me crazy. They still bank well, but the sound just isn't right.
If you have any sugestions, I would appreaciate them.
