Hey how are you guys doing? Hope all is well in 3 cushion land.

I have an older gentleman at the pool hall I work at who is just starting out and while I have some but limited knowledge of the game I would like to somehow obtain some instructional materials.

A while back a gentleman came in to the pool hall with what looked like a massive binder with over a thousand shots in it to practice with a full page diagram and description.

If anyone has anything like this or similar please get in touch asap as I would like to get this soon.

Thanks so much

Charlie

Byrnes Standard Book of Pool and Billiards is also good for starters.

What you probably saw was Ceulemans Mr 100. A good book but I don't think its a beginner book.

IMO, the best book for the beginning player is Byrne's, 'Book of Pool and Billiards'. I've been playing for 30 years and still refer to it. If I could only afford one book this would be it. You could probably even find it in the library.

You can get Byrne's "New Standard Book of Pool and Billiards" delivered to your door for under $10. www.addall.com or Amazon

There is a "Billiard Workbook" by Dianne Sorrentino that is that large, but it's for pool. I've never seen anything like that for carom. If he comes back, try to get a title -- or maybe he made the diagrams himself.
