I spoke with a friend in Illinois who claimed that you won the ladies division of a recent 9-ball tournament (weekend of 7-15). I didn't think to ask for details, as I assumed it would be noted here on AZB. Alas, no info has surfaced; and Mike has heard nothing. Perhaps you could fill us in on some of the details. Please ignore this post if my friend was hallucinating.

Congats on the win Sarah !!! What was the prize/winnings?
LS77 mentioned it was played on barboxes......I take it you don't have much trouble switching table size? Give us some details!!

Hey everyone,

My apologies. I forgot to mention the tournament in Alton, IL this past weekend. I generally post and invite everyone to meet up. It totally slipped my mind.

The tournament was a Midwest 9-ball Tour tournament held at Riverbend Billiards in Alton, IL. There were 13 women in the women's division and 92 men in the open division. The women's was a race to 7 and the men's was a race to 9. Both were on 7ft tables.

I won the women's division undefeated. I beat Julia Gabriel in the finals. I don't really care much for the bar box but it was a tournament and I can't pass up the opportunity to play in a tournament, especially when it is close to home. It isn't too difficult to switch back and forth from a 9ft to a 7ft. I would only have a problem if I had to play for an extensive amount of time on the bar table and then switch back to the big table. My biggest problem is taking things for granted on the bar table.

AJ Clemens won the men's division. Andy Quinn came in second and Chuck Raulston got third.

Christy....St. Louis isn't bad at all. I like it. I'm getting a chance to hang out around some good players and practice with some good players. I am hoping it helps my performance on the pro tour. By the way...did you know about the qualifier this weekend in Galesburg, IL? It is a qualifier for the pro tournament in Peoria. Just thought you should know in case you decided to come out of retirement and beat on us all. :)

...regardless, Christy is gonna be in Peoria for like a whole 24 hours durring the Peroia tourney!!!! Woo-hoo!!! :D :D :D :D Sarah, please don't have any matches scheduled durring this 24 hour period....thanx! :p

Landshark....If I don't have matches scheduled in that 24 hour period...that would be a bad thing. You are supposed to say.."Please have as many matches scheduled in that time period."

Yeah, I agree....BUT I wanna sweat your matches AND meet up w/ Christyd. She's only gonna be there for like 24 hours (incase you didn't know). I am sure Kelly and Steve will oblidge, afterall, let's not forget who you are....THE Sarah Rousey. Start using some of that "I am a famous pro" power!!! :p :p
 
Landshark, please get your facts straight!!......I will be there for 36 hours...NOT 24...lol.
Sarah, thanks for the info about Galesburg. I definitely think St. Louis is a good place for you to stay in stroke...stiff competition and lots of tourneys.
