This is not about how to aim... but how to recognize the 30 degree path the rolling cue ball takes on a half ball hit.
Mike Page has a great (2 part) youtube video on the half ball hit. About the 2:00 mark in part 1 he talks about

I think a good way to easily recognize this angle would be to use a ball rack (triangle) on the table. Place a ball at the front of the
rack so the edge would be at the centerline of the triange. When a cue ball is rolled directly towards the front of the rack, both
balls will separate at 30 degrees and both will travel down the sides of the rack without touching it... It is a very good visual.
