Recommend a cue, around $250.

Just picked up a Diveney w/ butterfly veneers off of the Wanted/For Sale section.

How'd I do?

I see a Josey in the future though, those SPs with the flare-tip inlays look very nice.

We are all spoiled with the number of excellent cues available. From my experience you can't do better than a Diveney, Scruggs or Josey SP/Hustler. JMO The price limit of $250 would make it tough for anything other than an "experienced" cue.

Personally I think his cues are under priced. If he charged more there would probably be a 5 year waiting list because of perceived value.

WOW!! Thanks for the info! You got me wanting this cue even more now than before you guys! All I've heard is they play great...No bad remarks at all! mine is the one on the bottom with the white joint. It's gonna have a solid black linen wrap and may get sent to me today!!! Yes, Bob seems like a GREAT guy!! I'd like to meet him sometime! I'd say he's as nice, or was on the phone anyways, as Bob DZ is to me usually.

Dennis Cash, Cash Cues, here, is turning out some pretty good stuff for a real reasonable price. If you want inlays, but can't afford them, then you want to check with Dennis. Dennis is a real nice guy too, been making cues a little over 4 years, and retired recently into making cues full time.

And we even have another good cuemaker here, but he has to be talked into making a cue nowdays, Randy Anderson, ever hear of Anderson Cues.

Oh, right on. Around here the cues vary...Scruggs and Josey seem to be the most common customs among the top players...as far as I can tell.

It's not a custom, but I just got a Schon LTD1122 w/ leather Friday and I love it.

Nice thinking, but actually....no, I don't think so. I have a fancy cue now that RARELY gets used cause I'm afraid off hurting it. I prefer cheaper cues as not to worry about them while playing. I like my fancy DZ cue, but kinda regret getting one so fancy cause I am afraid of using it. I like how all my cues play, but only use a couple due to not caring about hurting them. I primarily use my purpleheart "twins" to play when I get around to doing that and don't care if I ding em' cause I can have them refinished easily. This cue will get used also, along with the purpleheart plain jane cue Bob DZ is making me now. What can I say...I prefer to worry about my game, not my cues! I'd still like to sell the cue in my signature, and my cocoboo fancy DZ if anyone is interested. I HATE having em' sit in one of my cases not being used.

I bought a cue from Bob at the 06 DCC, been playing with it ever since. I am really not into fancy, so I bought one in the $300 range. I would agree that your get your money's worth in a Shurtz cue.

A few weeks ago I put an OB-1 shaft on the cue. The original shaft felt great, but I wanted to try a low deflection shaft to see how I would like it. Tried a predator but did not like the feel of it. The OB-1 feels real nice.

I don't think they play any better. The point I was trying to make was after you played with the pj you will wish that it was a little fancier. Then you would have both a good playing and good looking cue at a reasonable price. His laminated core line may feel a little better.

I have Mike Sigel signature cue and Meucci cue. "Mike Sigel" cue is about $275. I don't feel any difference between the 2 cues.

Now, I'm questioning myself why I bought a Meucci for around $600 dollars.
