Oh maybe because they dont want to wait 12+ years and pay for the premium Southwest price. Those woukd be my first guesses.

Better hurry. RB and JerryR won't be making cues much longer. I went to RB's shop in '83 and he was probably in his mid 40's then so he's gotta be pushin' 80. Super nice guy and really sweet cues. I've heard also that JerryR is winding his shop down also bur don't know exact details.Dammn right.
I was surprised at Richard Black recommendation.
I mean i have nothin but respect for the man but not for a southwest style project.
If i was looking to do a traditional 4 pointer , top 3 guys will be Tascarella, Jerry R n Richard black.

Joey Chin out of southern California think he Apprentice ship was with Eddie Choen.
Alex P ( the loin ) likes his cues as well I believe. Joey could have work out of Areil shop also.
