Recommendations for a beginning one pocket book?

If possible, buy it from him. Somewhere on the site is his email, I probably have it somewhere as well...if I come across it, I'll post or PM it to you.
No worries. I have the email. It's on onepocket.org-->Marketplace-->Books-->One Pocket: A Game of Controlled Aggression

Much of the depth of learning must start with your definition of "beginner". Are you just learning about pool and interested in a game other than 8-ball or rotation games; or an experienced player with basic knowledge and ability wanting to learn 1-pkt?

The books mentioned will help all levels. Assuming you have basic skills, a free source is to study - not just watch - many of the matches on You Tube amongst the top players. Study the table layout and shot selection. Also listen to knowledgeable commentators. Remember everyone will make a mistake from time to time, but you will find similar patterns and shot selection.

Good luck in your journey.

For a beginner, I’d also recommend Willie Jopling’s Ultimate One Pocket DVD in two volumes. It’s 4 hours of solid down to earth 1p instruction. Willie passed away 11 years ago so I’m not sure you can find this DVD easily. I still have my copy. Haven’t watched it in long time. Someone else gotta enjoy it.
