So, I've been using the Raven break shaft for a few months now. I got it with the default phenolic tip. I wanted to get it with a different tip, but Raven doesn't ship to me, so I got it from their eBay store, and there were no tip options.
It was working very well, but I had a hard time applying chalk to it and to get it to stay, especially with the Taom and Pagulayan chalks. This sometimes causes miscues when breaking. This got me going back and forth between this cue and my J/B with the Samsara.
I finally decided to cut it off and put a Samsara Break tip on it.
While going through my bag of tips, I found that I also have a White Diamond tip.
As mentioned before, I've had the WD tip on my jump/break cue, and while it was great, it kept popping off until I had it and went with the Samsara.
I've decided to go with the WD for now;
1. I already have it, so why not give it another go?
2. I like the contrast between the dark CF and the white tip.
I had a long session today, about 6 hours of practice and league, playing 8-ball, with alternate breaks, so I got to use it a lot.
It works great; so far, so good. It feels much better than the phenolic. Holds chalk very well and don't even need to chalk it everytime (although I do)
I left a bit of the phenolic tip to act like a pad, and it also looks good like that... Not my greatest job as it's very hard to cut and I don't have a lathe but still looks great if not looking under a microscope
I hope it'll stay glued for a long time this round; if not, then I'll just go with the Samsara that proved itself on my J/B for the last 16 years.
