A gentleman contacted me about recovering a 9ft Gandy he was donating to a local church. I told him to get back with me when they had it moved and setup where it was going to stay. He called me back a few days later and said we were a go.
I get to the church and the table is sitting in a hallway with no more than 18" of clearance around the table. I thought, "Whoa!". So I finally get up with one of the asst. pastors and he says, "No, that's not where it's going to stay. We figured you could cover it here and then we'd move it inside the sanctuary.". I explain how I have to wax the joints and so on, and how the table needs to be in it's permanent location. So it ends up, we carry the table into the sanctuary area, set it in it's spot and I start recovering this table while they are having services!
This is in the youth center area, so it's like 40 or 50 teenagers and the pastor, deacons, etc. They turned off the lights on me during the sermon. But I had some weak glow of light from the sound booth above and behind me. I decided to take the compressor outside and pump the tank up to try and keep the noise down.
Weird, huh?
Yes, I did stop stapling when prayer was given.
