Recovering with Simonis 860

I have been recovering the tables in my rooms with Simonis 860 for several years. Each time I recover the cushions, there is a puckering effect. Wherever there is a staple, there is a dimple in the rubber. After a week or so of use the cloth stretches and the dimples disappear.
I know that if I don't pull the cloth so tight, the dimpling effect is reduced. The problem then, is that the cloth is loose on the cushions.
I'm wondering what the proper technique is.
I don't see the same problem with other brands of cloth, such as Mali or Championship Titan.

When stretching the cloth, you grip it with your fingers and thumb. Instead of placing the staples beside your thumb, which is what causes the dimpling of the cushions, stretch the cloth tight, then place the staple at the end of your thumb, so it's not inline with the stretch of the cloth. But also when setting the feather strip, make sure you stretch the cloth tightly from end to end as tight as you can, this also helps remove loose cloth under the rails.

I hold the cloth between my thumb and index finger with my hand in a fist-like formation. I look at the cushion point and stretch the cloth until I see the edge changing shape, then I let off just enough pressure to restore the cushion edge to straight and then staple it. By pulling tight at first I make sure there will be a clean edge at the feather strip and eliminate any top rail buckling.

My 2 cents.

Only problem with this...is that the rail cloth ends up sagging between the staples at the bottom of the rails over time;)

Are you serious? That's the trick? That's it? Im not being sarcastic I am seriously amazed.
On Diamonds, I use pliers to pull the cloth because of my wrists being so screwed up. I pull the cloth until it DOES dimple the cushions, then place my staples about an inch left or right from the nose of the pliers, as to not hold the dimple in place, yet the cloth is still tight enough where I place the staples that it'll never sag between staples;)

There is a few tricks to installing Simonis cloth which makes it much easier to work with, especially if the pockets have been tightened...like in this picture...before I worked on this table. Just a little hint for you guys, if you come across some really deep cut pocket shelves that you know are going to give you a hard time attaching the pocket flaps....wet the cloth in the pocket BEFORE you cut the flaps, and it's MUCH easier to stretch and attach;)

Is this picture from todays work?

This is the same corner pocket after I got done working on the table. Corners are 4 3/8" sides are 5". And yes, it's single shimed because the sub-rails have been extended.

pictures?

I'm about to start this on a diamond table (re-doing the rubber rails too...diamond sent me their new black ones to replace the orangishred older ones that never, over 5 years, had the dimple "work" itself out)...thanks Diamond for the new rails!...I digress though.

I'm reading your tip with the pliers and putting the staple off to the left or right about an inch, I can picture it with the first middle rail cloth pull and first staple, but i'm having a hard time envisioning where to place the pliers next and where to place the next staple.

EDIT: I just saw my rails and tried to envision me doing it...I think I know what you are talking about....but....

Could you still, by chance, shoot of a series of pictures with your plier pull and stapler positioning on 1st staple, 2nd staple, 3rd staple...and then maybe some tips on the pockets?

You should add a shopping cart to your instructional posts. :D
The truck would be paid for by now.
