When you have a cue refinished, do you have to have the wrap re-done aswell? If you had a nice leather wrap on a cue and wanted to have the cue re-finished, do you have to get a whole new leather wrap? Also, what is the going rate to re-finish a butt and 2 shafts?

The finishes that I use and the amount that I put on dictate that the wrap be changed. I can do it without changing the wrap but usually the job is not as good and I charge extra for the extra worked involved.

Dick is right. It can be done but a refinish without a wrap change will not be as good.

Might as well get it re-finished when I have the wrap done then.

The thing is, I purchased a used cue and want to change the wrap on it to leather. The cue has a few dings in it and I was thinking I would just get the wrap for now and wait to have the re-finish done later, but it might be in my best interest to have it all done at one time.

Are the dings actually chips in the finish or just scratches and dents. I ask because they might be repairable without a total refinish. Some blemishes can be fixed with a little wet sanding and buffing. Others will require new finish. Got any pics of the cue?
