Refinishing a Meucci cue stick

Hello:
What would you use to take the present finish off a meucci stick or how would you go about removing the finish? Mainly the butt of the cue.

> I've never done one,but from what I gather,refinning a Meucci can be a serious PITA. They used to do things like using coloring in their point ends with a fountain pen or something similar,painted in veneers,and used a shitload of plastic,all of which don't get complicated until you strip or sand the finish off and points start changing length,etc. Getting some of those plastics sanded back to flat are tricky.

I had a guy that was widely regarded as a refinish expert tell me that he thought he really knew what he was doing until he started doing Meucci's regularly,and said that many times they required a whole different skill-set. Tommy D.
