I see a few posts concerning the new year, resolutions, etc. and I guess it made me think about some of that stuff, so here goes......................
2009 was about the worst year I've had in a lot of ways. My finances/career went to crap, as did a lot of folks, so I know I don't have the right to complain too much about that. At the beginning of '09 I was at a $38K - $40K/yr job, got layed off and never called back. :frown: Thankfully my wife has a stable and good paying job/career. Which is probably more than some people can say so I'm just going to thank the stars for that and keep plugging away at it.
My 5 yr old son had a MAJOR medical issue in August, but he did recover. But I still owe over $1500.00 in medical bills that I can't pay yet. :frown: (Bill collectors SUCK by the way.
) The AZforums community really came to my rescue during that time and helped me with a few raffles and donated a couple thousand dollars that sure made things a LOT less painful with that whole ordeal and I thank the AZ community with all my heart for the support during all of that. I can't thank a few of the people here enough ............. ever.
My pool life deteriorated as well. A few people who I thought were my pool friends just turned out to be pool aquaintances, not friends as I would describe true friends, but at least I know who to really call friends now, which right now isn't anybody that I can think of but I'm going to try to remedy that and start hanging in a few new circles and see what comes of it.
Selling off my prized custom cue a little while back just to be able to have a little bit of Christmas for my kids was worth it but now I have no desire to shoot, and haven't for almost a month now and doubt I will anytime soon. Right now just walking away from the game for a few years and focusing on family and a new career seems like the best solution for me, but I sure love the game.
Family is at a 50/50 status I guess. I have very little if any relationship with my wife of 22 years anymore but I have a strong relationship with my children and love my 3 sons like nothing else, which is very, very cool. I've got GREAT kids! They are my true inspiration in life.
Looking ahead is a tough thing to do, one always hopes for the best but after such a devastating year a guy is a little suspect of what might lay ahead.
I haven't posted in here for some time and doubt I will post much, if any for a while so to those who know me, thanks for all the fun and good reads at times. I'll be back sometime, just not sure when. I know, I know ......... I don't need to cry y'all a river about taking a break from here and whatnot, but this is the ONLY place I participate in forums so I guess I don't have any other plave to go and vent ........... cry .......... etc. so just let me have my moment here and try to understand it. If not .............. oh well and flame away.
I truly hope good things find the vast majority of you all here as I'm hoping for the same for myself for 2010 and beyond.
So HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone and to those who are in similiar situations, keep your chin up like I'm gonna try to do and maybe we'll meet on the tables in the future.
PEACE ................... Trevor
