refunding $ for sold cues

guarantee

I have morals. If you buy something from me, and it is not as described, I will do whatever I can to make the deal right. I might miss something or be mistaken on something, I am human. I just didn't want the guy to feel like he bought a cue that he didn't care for because we have all been there. I just hope that the same is afforded to me by the seller if I am in the same spot.

I agree with you there. If the cue isn't accurately described or the seller misses something in the description, then a refund is warranted. If everything in the description is accurate and the buyer wants a refund just because he doesn't like the hit or is having buyers remorse, Then I don't think the seller should be on the hook.

I'm assuming this thread is about used cues. New cues bought from cue makers or legitmate businesses are a different situation. A money back guarantee on a used cue I buy is nice but not something I'd personally expect unless it was a term in our deal.

cue

I bought the cue (TNT J/B) late last year, used it a few times on my home table, and sold it. The cue was described as like new without any dings or dents. Only clue it was used was the chalk on the tip. I gave the buyer a good price on a used cue that looked new, something like 75.00 off of new price and I picked up shipping.

The cue was used for 2-4 weeks by the buyer and I got an email asking for a refund because it hit too soft for his taste. I refunded the money later the same day, or, early the next.

I guess in the future, I need to specify a time limit to test out a bought cue before moving on to the next one. This is how I pay for cues. I like to keep one for a few weeks/mos. and then sell it so I can try out another cue that has a diffetent feel or hit. All of this in an effort to find a hit and feel that works for me.

I will always stand by my description of a cue. If something is wrong, I make it right. Period. But I disagree with taking a cue back for the reason someone doesnt like the hit of it. I make fair deals. If they dont like the cue, they can sell it and probably end up not losing money at all on the deal. maybe even make money on it. Just my .02.

Wow, 2-4 weeks. That would change things for me. I would not have taken a cue back someone played with for a month and said they didn't like the hit. I can see allowing the person to have maybe two or three days to see if they like it, but a couple weeks is excessive.

I can tell if I like a cue within the first couple racks. I don't know if I love the cue without putting some time in with it, but that's not what I'm talking about. If you hit with it and you "like" it, then you shouldn't ask for a refund. I can tell if I hate the hit of a cue within the first couple balls. He should have contacted you within a day or two if he didn't like the soft hit.
