Remove Huebler Bumper?

I have any old 1970's Huebler cue that I want to remove the bolt from to reduce the weight.
The problem is that I can not remove the bumper.
I have tried every standard and metric hex set that I own.
I could not find anything that fit screw to remove the bumper. Does anyone know the size the hex screw that is used? The hex screw might have been worn out but I can not tell. Thanks for all the help.

It is very late, brain kinda foggy....but it could be either 7/64 or 9/64. Dont know why such an odd size, but a lot of cuemakers use it so the customer cant get to the weight bolt.

Speaking of which, most Hueblers have the bolt glued in, quite a process to get out. Good luck.

It's been a while but If I remember correctly Huebler used a Phillips head screw driver.

I tried the Phillips head screw driver this morning with no luck.
I will have to go to the store this afternoon and buy the 7/64 & 9/64 hex key.
If anyone has an more suggestion of the size of the Huebler screw, please let me know.
I really appreciate the help.

You can often remove one with a smaller size wrench by just putting some side pressure on it as you turn. The screw holding in a bumper is not usually very tight. You can also use a small flat screw driver that fits in. I do that all the time with hex screws.

As a note, are you sure there is a screw in there? A remember some Hueblers with bumpers that had a hole for a screw but were just pressed or glued in.

I am sure that it has a screw in it.
I have taken two flat head screw drivers and could not move it.
It almost damaged the bumper so I had to stop.

If I can not get it out by the end of the day.
Then I will just have to take it to my location repair guy.

What size screw driver were you using? One small enough to go into the top hex screw should not touch the bumper. This method gives you a lot of leverage to remove all but the tightest screws. Now I am not sure what you are really looking at. Does it look like this?

Be very careful on Heubler cues and the weight bolt, You may not like what you find. This is not on all of them, but it is on some, and most of them are glued.

They would have been wise to leave ALL the threads on the bolt.
I don't know that this an area where you really want quick-release.
