Remove Scratches in Balls

I just got a new TV set of Centennials and the room owner has tables with sharp pockets with metal sticking out. Of course it scratches new balls just slightly and can't be removed with ball cleaner.
Does anyone know what to use to cover it up or remove it. Someone told me scratch remover that is used on cars might work. I wonder if anything on the infomercials actually works?

a car polisher with rubbing compound should work depending on how deep the scratches are. make sure its a polisher though, a buffer wont work.
 
And take a hammer to the pool room with you and tap those pieces of metal in.

Have you told the owner about the metal sticking out? It may be an easy fix, depending on what it is.

you may even be able to glue a small piece of cloth over them too
 
I believe the problem that made scratches in the balls was leather pockets that seperated near the top and under it was metal. As the balls hit the top of the pockets the metal made marks in the balls slightly.

Aramith ball cleaner will remove scuffs and make the ball shiny at the scuff location, but I think there is no way for it to fill in deep gouges or significant scratches. There is no way to replace the plastic that is missing.

You may want to let the room owner know of the problem. Presumably all of his balls are getting gouged.

I would agree with Bob, 'There is no way to replace the plastic that is missing".

Hopefully the room has balls that are table specific: only one set getting the bite.
