Is it possible to heat up a G10 pin to remove it the same as a metal pin or will it just melt/burn ?

Thanks

Thanks guys, it's a 3/8-10 and I hate the way it hits so I need to swap in a 3/8-10 metal pin but my spindle is not big enough to do butts.

If the cue is not hitting well, it's doubtful that it's the pin.
Once the pin secures the shaft to the handle, it's job is pretty much over.

Start with the tip....then the ferrule, if neither of those help a new shaft may. If you try a new shaft and it still plays like is a piece of chewed bubble, just get a different cue. Your wasting your time changing the pin to change the cue other than weight.
