No way for me to know for sure but from what you described and the area it is in, def seems like a triceps tendon strain originally as I described in my post above on how a fixed elbow could lead to this type of injury. It was originally a tendon issue almost certainly given that the pain was delayed onset and not instant like a sprain (affecting ligaments) would be.So in my case it is minor pain and only flares up randomly once or twice a month. Easy to live with. But out of curiosity, is this a tendon tear or nerve damage that will take a long time to heal or is it permanent? What exactly happened physically? And how could I have caused this in only a few hours of play? Thanks
Btw I am fit, at the time I was able to do things like strict ring muscle ups, 20 pulls at a time, etc.
As far as it flaring up, that is an oddity if just the tendon was affected because by now it should have been completely fine. Lot of possibilities here but all speculation.
As far as how this could happen in just a few hours....it can happen in one overzealous fixed elbow shot. If the forearm gets going with some speed and you fix the elbow in place, as the elbow joint flexes and the forearm runs out of room, the triceps tendon gets stretched across the back outside of the elbow. The muscle cannot really save you once the joint is so collapsed so the tendon of the tricep takes the entire load of stopping the forearm and gets overstretched. This overstretching (often with minor tearing) is called a strain in tendons. Often the pain has a delayed onset, maxing out around 36-48hrs later...in line with your 2 days later report. Almost certainly a triceps tendon strain originally imo given the info.
