Replacing Unilock with Radial

I was wondering if it's possible to replace a unilock pin with a radial. To my understanding you get better feedback in your back hand with a radial pin. I have a Revo SP2 and was wondering if I can get the same effect if I swap the pins(if it's even possible). Can anyone weigh in on this? Thanks a ton!

It can be done and is done all the time. I had Seybert's change several of my Predators from Uniloc to radial. And, yes, the hit is more solid and doesn't loosen up like some (not all) Unoloc joints do.

Easy, but you'll likely not notice any difference other than what a slight weight change at the joint might cause.
I'd be willing to bet that this "understanding" is someone's half baked theory, based on very very little actual evidence or testing.

It's possible and not too complicated, but the reason why you want to change joint pin makes no sense. Buy a cue with a Radial pin if that's the pin you like. Many cue makers use Radial pin, so you should be able to find a nice cue that's not mass-produced.

Odd, I actually called Seybert's and asked and they said they don't do that.

I just really like the butt that I currently have, which is why I want to swap the pin on that one. It seems some people are saying it won't make a difference in the feel of the hit, and some people say it can be done and it's great.

Yikes! I owe you an apology. It wasn't Seybert's. It was Scot Sherbine at Proficient Billiards. He's done this for me several times. I have had Seybert's do other work on my cues like wraps and refinishing. Sorry.

The placebo effect is a big one. Maybe it's a good enough reason to do it. Funny enough, there is evidence when people do alternative medicine treatments where they know the science behind them is BS, they still get the placebo benefit.

It's the Aikido effect
