See a lot of this happening lately. Do people think that a cue/shaft/etc is still available 10-13yrs after the product was initially offered? Also it would seem (to me anyway) that a FAR more effective way to find such info would be to contact the seller directly as opposed to posting and hoping that said seller sees the post. Just my $.02 here, nothing more.

It's almost always new users who probably created an account because they're just looking for one specific item (I saw one guy commenting on a bunch of old Joss West sale threads, for example) and I have to assume they just don't look at the date of the post. They just do a search, and if they see a cue they like they ask if it's still for sale. It's possible they're so forum illiterate the notion of dated posts are a foreign concept (however unlikely this seems), or they think it's like Craigslist where if the post is still up there's a decent chance it's still for sale. Whatever the reason, I agree it's ridiculous and I have no idea why there'd be an uptick now in particular.

It is an established member a surprising amount of the time

If possible, set the forum software to lock the thread once the seller marks it sold.

It's not uncommon to do a google search about a specific item and have a hit come up from a very old AZB posting. A non member that is just looking for an item isn't paying attention to dates on the posts. It does show that old posts being available to google searches helps attract potential users to the site. It doesn't hurt a thing,,,,,,, imagine a forum that nobody is posting in.

Actually, I had a friend reply to an old for sale post and it turned out that the person hadn't gotten a response and the seller had forgotten he even HAD the cue. He ended up getting a good deal on it... soo there IS that...

Thats got be super rare, but I suppose you never know.
It's happens alot now, with these old threads. It's more likely a member, searching and didn't see the thread was from 2010.

SUPER rare. The really old sales ads should just be removed.

Its on the lower end of the dumb shit that is done in that forum by regulars.

Threads in the sales should be marked as sold and locked for editing ... not a huge problem if someone posts on a super old thread just ignore it. unless David Sorenson starts spamming threads from the dark ages again lmao
