Everyone will receive their rating when they register!

Will the ratings be posted for all to review everyone's rating or will you only know your own?

what kind of environment is this? a bar or poolhall ?
do they serve alchohol?

im far too young too drink but the parents dont want me to go play in a bar.

I'm a little confused...sorry if this has already been answered in a previous post.

The title says, "reserve your spot now." Then you say registration begins the day of the tournament at 10:00.

Do we register early or just wait until the day of?

Thanks

Sean McAlister

Handicaps?

So how do you figure these handicaps? I assume I am a B but don't expect to know anyone one there. I am an APA 6 if that helps. Have always wondered what A and B mean.

It's okay thanks Juan....Just to let every one know the tables were completely recovered last weekend and they're playing great! We even had some out of town players come in over the weekend and check the place out!!

oops dont know what i was thinking the tournament hasnt even been held yet so how could you post the results

Hey guys,

I stated in the other post on the tournament that if your weren't local and I didn't know who you were that you will start off as an A level player. And the next tournament you play in will be adjusted according to your results if need be.

Zach

Zach,

Myself (James "Jimbo" Buller) and Sean McAlister might come and play. What would our hadicaps be?

Thanks,

Jimbo

if i'm an A, and i play an evenly matched A and i loose by lets say, 2 games, does that mean i can be a B next time? Since the only thing you might be checking come next tournament is Win vs Loss record, or if your really meticulous final score of each set. But even 1 set can't be used to rate anyone. (the above is hypothetical, i'll play at whatever rating you put me, be it A, Pro, D, etc.)

Tournament handicaps always tend to favor friends, regulars, etc. I particularly like people who ask you to play so they can rate you right before the tournament. What a joke that becomes. And then come the good shooters who always think they are overrated, or the great ballbanger no name guys who end up being underrated.

And taking someone's barbox, most likely, drunken APA rating and using some dollar store arithmetic to convert it to a regulation type real world pool room rating just doesn't work either. 6 does not have to equal B.

Sorry had to vent about prior experiences, and accidently came accross this post. But i think my points need to be taken into consideration for you guys to have a successful turnout time and time again.

I don't favor people or friends..I don't have a benefit of doing so..I'm running this tournament for free....The Tournament bracket is going to be completed by someone who is not in the tournament while the calcutta is being run...And Ty I worked at one of the largest pool halls in the area for a while and I know most of the players in the area, like I said before anyone I don't know will start off as an A. I can watch a player play and tell his skill level fairly easy these days. It doesn't matter how hard people try to dog matches, I can still tell. I'm an honest and straight forward individual who loves the game.

Hope to see everyone there....

Sean will be a B+ and Jimbo I will have to see your face and see if I recognize you or not..If not you will have to start off as an A just like anyone else.

Thanks,

rack'em
