"So I take it you're using TOI and liking it. CJ suggest moving over PARALLEL to the TOI.........the Devil (parallel english) according to your teachings. Was wondering if you are doing it this way or moving over to the TOI with BHE or FHE? Thx."
This was said to me by DTL after I commented on the TAR table thread that the table may be playing a lil sticky and how clean balls every 10 racks or so may help and I ended with "OR Learn to use a TOI, joke but no joke."

What made me say it is I could picture CJ gambling somewhere on tight damp table forcing the balls in using a touch of inside with an accerated stroke and it being effective. Since CJ introduced TOI I have added some shots to my game both position wise and pocketing wise and I will use or teach those shots when appropriate. I will not be recommending players use parallel english for getting spin as I still believe aiming exactly where you want the cb to go and getting to know your pivot angle for spin is very effective. I've done it both ways and can say under the gun I really like starting the aiming process exactly where I want the cb to hit.

And if Justin sees this, sorry man, I had no idea.

using TOI is you go to that spot on the cue ball FIRST, then pivot for your outside

I'm clear in the video and give examples. Parallel for deflection TOI and pivot for spin. The only difference, perhaps, with using TOI is you go to that spot on the cue ball FIRST, then pivot for your outside English.

I personally only pivot to center(from TOI)and it effectively produces half of the "Helping English," and this helps moderate it so it doesn't "spin away" from me. Remember, tight, wet table are my "specialty" using TOI. I played a LOT in Florida in my early years and ran 19 racks in a row on Dave Favor using TOI on a wet 4.5/9' (B, BIH).

TOI question

Hi CJ, I was wondering about toi. Is this a aiming system that the dvd completly teaches you stand aim and pocket the balls or is this to be used with cte or another aiming system?

ToI isn't an aiming system at all. It has that component, however, it's a combination of the Shot Speed - Shot Angle - and Cue Ball Target blended into one system of play. I've been using it for over 25 years.

I don't know how much time other people have spent with CJs TOI but the more I use it the more I discover about the game. I was just hitting balls on my table with TOI, just trying to pocket different shots with it. When I realized, after over 20 years of playing this game and countless hours of practice, that there is a completely different way to get shape and play this game. I knew the pros played different position off different angles but could never put my finger on it. Amazing. I am a product of many systems. CTE,SEE and Perfect Aim along with some of your drills. TOI adds something different to the game . All these systems are great and necessary for me at least

I have been using TOI for a couple of months, well over a 100 hours of practice and play.

TOI sure does make the game a lot simpler. With TOI you have to use a firm stroke. So, the other day I went back to spinning the ball for position, the QB took off like a rocket.

Needless to say, I am commited to TOI and will not be returning to spin.

Dont feel bad, I have been spinning the QB for over 50 years. Playing position on the next shot has been my biggest challenge.

Have a good day
