Resting Shafts Between Turnings

What is the MINIMUM amount of time, you let your shaft wood rest,between turnings? And how many times do you cut them...JER

I don't have a clue and I can't offer any help other than to give this thread a bump back to the top. I still wan't to get up to see you Jer and hope all is well witchu.

I let mine rest a minimum of 2 weeks between passes. Usually more like 2 months. I generally get 7-8 passes to get them to final size.

I usually take one pass to turn round if not already doweled. Then I take two passes each time on the machine and take 12 to 14 passes to finish. Usually a month or so between turnings. Two weeks is my minimum rule also.
