I Need To Know What I Would Be Gettiing Into By Restoring A 1928 ROYAL Brunswick Table. Ser # On Frame Is I 5070 J .table Is Not In Poor Shape But It Needs Some Work, Veneers Are Lifting Away From Legs But Inlays Are Intact. Table Has Not Been Worked On Before As Far As I Can Tell. Located In Central Pa. Would Like To Know Who Can Do This Work And If It Would Pay To Restore It. Thanks For Any Help. Penn State University has one for sale at an auction, today. I couldn't find the model, but its an old BBC with the wooden name plate. It could have been an OK fixer upper, but when I looked at the one side, it looked like it was hit by a truck. The slates were ok, though.

Looks like a great table to restore. I've been working on a 1913 Jefferson that is almost done. Need to put on the cushions and cover the table. Still debating if I should finish the basement first or not... Old tables have a lot of personality that newer tables don't imho. They are not that hard to restore if you have the time to do it and some refinishing experience. And if not find a book and talk to some people at the local wood shop. That's how I got started a long time ago with a player piano I restored. If you've read the forum, the biggest thing to look out for are rails that have been "modified". Also any of the obvious things, water, fire, bugs... Other than that, I say restore it yourself and if needed, find someone to do the rails and cover the table. Nothing better than having something you brought back to life to show off and kick some butt on!!!!

Thanks Tom334, If I Would Try To Do It Myself I Would Hurry It Too Much And Then Screw It Up, So I'll Let A Pro Do It If It Will Pay.
 
Contact Blatt Billiards or Rebco both of them quoted me $9000 plus over the phone I havn't sent them pictures yet for a better quote. If you search the internet there are more companys out there but these two have a great reputation..

I currently have 6 old old brunswicks i am working on also.
