Friday night Ring Game:

1st- Brian Sanders from Austin
2nd -Carl Ray from Waco ( hey! one for the home team)
3rd- Wendell Moser from Houston.

IT WAS WISDOM & EXPERIENCE VS YOUTHFUL OPTIMISM IN WACO.

We had 55 players  make their way to Waco for this months Tourney, but only 48 would get to play as we had to enforce the “if your not here in person by 11:00 am sharp…. stand by players would get those spots” rule. We got things rolling ON time, we kept the races 7 & 5 and we finished in one day! Thanks to everyone for being great sports. The flyer will be up on the Clicks web site by tonight outlining the break down of the entry fee and reg/gr fee. I apologize to everyone who didn’t realize we DO have a reg/gr fee to cover operating expenses at the events. They are necessary and will continue as the events do. We also have money added by Clicks Waco thanks to Jim Ashby,Clicks Mgr., Cue & A Billiard Promotions( my company), James Hanshew Custom Cues, thanks James, and next month Jack Compan from Mystik Cues will be here and will be adding money and demo-ing some of his really great “players” and jump cues. Guys…. the sponsors are starting to notice us and the payouts will only get better! It’s all of you that are making this possible. Thank you for supporting pool in Texas!

The top picks for this month’s event were: 2 time returning Champion Charles “CJ” Holan from Houston. CJ has a solid game that everyone enjoys watching. Brian Sanders, who snapped off the $100 ring game Friday night. When he gets rolling, boy can he make it work! Returning Champion Jon Rollins from Denton,TX. Jon is a super nice guy and a smooth player! Dylan Weinheimer from Fort Worth. First time for Dylan to make the tourney and man does he play a solid game.

Finishing 7-8th this month were, Dylan Weinheimer from Ft.Worth and Mathew Ellis Both played some really good pool! Good job guys.

Our 5-6th places went to Ralph Bullard from Lampasas and Frank Cherry from Waco but now living in Dallas. Ralph really knows how to play ! Frank always has a good showing. Congratulation on some great finishes!

4th place went to one of our own here in Waco, Jimmy Davis. Jimmy plays very well and has one hell of a top gear! Way to go Jimmy.

3rd place was secured by another local, smooth stroking Carl Ray. This guy is always fun to watch. Good job Carl Ray.

Making the trip for the first time, San Antonio “young gun” Frank Ferrer Jr. started off defeating a strong player from Dallas Juan Parra 7-3, then Charlie Brown 7-4, our NOW local “young gun” and former top Junior player Blake Holman 7-5,Kenny Triplett 7-3, Frank Jr. then defeated local Carl Ray 7-5. This would give Frank Jr. a chance to play for the hot seat.

Coming from the other bracket was “old school” player Joe Mac Macnamara, Joe Mac would start out defeating a VERY solid player from the Ft Worth area Daniel Herring 7-1! He would then win over a very good Sean Mcallister from Dallas 7-2, Jesus Hernandez from Dallas 7-1, Frank Cherry 7-6, Ralph Bullard from Lampasas 7-2. He would win the “hot seat” in a very close match that had everyone squirming 7-6 over Frank Ferrer Jr. Frank Jr was not easily discouraged though as he defeated Carl Ray on the one loss side 5-1! That is not easy to do! Frank Jr was now in the finals. One race to 9 was going to go back and forth until Joe Mac kicked it up a notch and defeated Frank Jr 9-5. Joe Mac Macnamara would be our new Champion. Both Frank Jr and Joe Mac played some awesome pool. The DVD will be available soon!

Once again thanks to all of our sponsors, Jim Ashby Mgr.Clicks Waco, Shooters Billiards on New Rd, owned and operated by Carl Pfenninger for hosting the Ring Game. James Hanshew of James Hanshew Custom cues. Thanks to Summer Palace for hosting the players meeting.SPECIAL THANKS to Lewis Jones of the Fast Eddies 9Ball tour for sponsoring the winner with paid entry to their next event Thanks to everyone for supporting our tournament. Just so everyone knows.....The set was alot closer than 9-5 sounds. My road dog Frank Jr. hung up 3 nine balls.

Tough, it was quite BRUTAL to watch. Especially since I had his half in the auction.....:D Oh well, my boy played good all weekend. We're coming down next month for sure.

Tony -

You are so right. Take the three jawed 9's and it 8-6 Frank. He probably would have finished off the old man. Joe Mac played some good pool and we could all learn something from him, but I'm really excited about the future of this young man Frank Ferrer Jr.
