I'm here boys, just been spending a lot of time lurking instead of posting.
Larry Pittman came from the loser's side to win it all. This was a handicapped tournament, with a little controversy in the handicaps (imagine that). One guy, who's an APA 7 and plays Masters, got into the tourney as a 4, so he's getting a ton of weight from everybody. Pee-wee was told that was not a good handicap for this guy, but he didn't change him, and sure enough, the guy got all the way to the finals, beating Johnny Griffin for the hot-seat. Pee-wee then moved him up to a 6 for the finals, but Larry's an 11, so he still had to give him 5 on the wire. Didn't matter, though, because Sunday was all about Larry. He played great, solid, mistake-free pool. He won the finals (had to win twice) 9-6, 9-6, giving up 5 on the wire in both.
Johnny Griffin got 3rd, Montez from Greenville placed 4th. Robert finished 9-12, I think. Since he opened up his room, he's finding that it's hard to find the time to play and practice. He hasn't been playing well at all (at least, not for him), and it showed in the tournament. He missed some balls he never misses. I'm sure once he gets settled in at Play2Win he'll be right back to his old ass-kicking self.
I didn't play in the tournament because I hurt my leg playing softball, which makes breaking and staying still on certain shots a little hard for me. If I got in as a 4, I probably would've played, but I'm a 10, so I didn't think I had much of a shot. I really wanted to play, since I won this tournament last year and wanted to "defend my title" but I just couldn't see me doing well this year.
PlynSets, if you want to get in touch with Robert, you can call Play2Win at 919.662.3888 or you can PM me and I might give you his cell # (I'll have to clear that with Robert first, of course).
