Thank you for the update! You should be proud of your countrymen!

So, Ronnie beat Thomas?

Well, well...
Seems like Ronnie was right to turn down all those previous invitations to pool tournaments. It is always better to qualify on merit without using your superstar status too much.

Now I wonder if he really played that well, or perhaps the players who played him were just a bit intimidated...who knows...

ronney played very good it seems. BEating engert is not just a small achievement. playing the top pool players must be more intimidating for him then to the pool players. Imagine all the worlds eyes turned to u, secretly hoping u will choke and lose your godly status. I think its very brave that he tries it this way, as he has nothing to win, and only to lose (ok maybe win some $ but we all know thats not why he plays, the snooker gives him alot of more money then pool will ever do. ronney is still my #1 player i admire, and wish him best of luck, but i still hope a belgium will KICK HIS A**!!! j/k :p

nippon, i am :) thats why i like to post some info on our players from time to time. ps do u need a official dealer in belgium? i can hook u up with ALOT of players :D id love to travel europe and promote your cue's in all the big hot places. but guess u dont need that, as your cue's sell for themself but still :D

havent got news yet for the todays 2 qualifiers. but i will post them soon. Even my training partner KAtja(female player from finland with 14y of pool behind her, will try to qualify on the lady's side. special good luck for her, hope she gets far!!. she should be able to qualify.... ill post as soon as i got more info guys) and David vanhauter (who probably has the cutest girlfriend around, and is a very very nice guy, i wish him the best of luck too) and maybe johan monserez my future? coach, not sure he had time to drive to weert, but if he does, it shouldnt be to hard to qualify for him. Good luck to all

Unfortunately Ronnie lost in the winner take all Sudden Death 7 ball event at the Weert Open. He drew Mario Lannoye in the first round and lost on a one-rack decider after going to one set each. He won his first match of the last 64 defeating Bart Houben (NED) 8-4.

He has now also won his last 32 match beating Fabio Petroni 9-8 so it looks as if he is starting to show his class. Can he win the title? He would emulate another Brit - Lee Chenman - who won here last year!

Results can be found here:

Ronnie is through to the last 8:

Unfortunately for Silly Solly, it was at the expense of a 9-7 victory over Super Mario :(

ah well :) knowing mario, he'll probably chalenge ronnie for some snooker after the game.

but now im so sad :( i couldnt make it to weert, and mario played ronnie (my all time favorit player) in the 7b AND the 9b and i missed it. im very sad now :(

still nice score, win over ralf souquet, Raj hundal and 7-9 vs ronnie. just sucks he had to play das in the last64. 2 best friends playing eachother is never a fun game. Jan dulst also made it far, but then again, he's is for me one of the 3 best belgium players. Overal im still happy of my fellow countryplayers. 8 in the last64. 2 in the last 16. overall ok outcome.

It looks like Ronnie means business, I don't think his opponents are intimidated by his presence either, Engert doesn't get intimidated on the pool table, if he was playing Ronnie on a snooker table that would be an entirely different story;)

ronnie into the final with immonen.
if he wins this, im sure this well clean up all the ROFL KK NOOB RONNIE stuff. Greath he showed what he got.

honestly id prefere him over immonen for the win. But immo is playnig a greath tournament, so not sure about it. Putting away Feyen, NVB, and some others... to bad i cant watch it

seems it was a nice week for the iceberg in weert. Gratz to mika.
gratz to ronnie too ofcourse and my m8 Mario lanoye, who can at least leave the tournament knowing, beside mika he was the only other person to have won vs ronnie in the 7b ringgame and had a nice 7-9 game vs him in the 9ball.
