Revamping Don Q's Pool Hall in Santa Barbara

No substitute for safety goggles, they even come in handy when picking up a blind date....provided they're the ones used for welding....that you CAN'T see anything through...don't want to hurt your eyes any ya know. If you don't have any handy, a blind fold works great too;). Good job Donny:D

Thanks Glen. I was reading this post on my phone when my wife asks What are you smiling at. Just reading one of Glen post I reply.

Haven't posted anything in a long time but just had to drop a note on the pool hall I grew up in. I've seen the place go through a few owners hands and it's great to see a couple of guys who really appreciate the game do something for the players. Both the owners are great guys and I wish nothing but success for them.

Myself and a few friends pooled some funds together and acquired our own table a while back, so I haven't been playing much pool at Don Q's as much lately. I still stop by on occasion to say hello to the locals, hit some balls around, and catch up on what's been going on both on and off the pool tables. The new Gold Crown with the 4.5" pockets plays great, tough but fair as it should be. Much respect to the mechanic who did the work. While 5" pockets are great for the recreational players just looking for a good time or just learning the game, it's nice to have a table catered to the players who strive to improve their game.

The room is really starting to blossom under the new ownership and I hope the local players continue to support it. Both Andy and Jeremy have a passion for pool that is clearly expressed in the way they continue to pour their hearts and funds back into the business and make it the best pool playing experience in the city. If you're in Santa Barbara (whether you're visiting or a local) and get the itch to play some pool, don't hesitate to stop into Don Q Billiards. The locals are all friendly, the owners are always happy answer your questions or just chat, and the selection of bottled beers is growing by the minute!

I was going through Santa Barbara on Monday and stopped in at Don Q's to check it out. I met Jeremy and we had a chance to speak for a short while. Very nice guy living his dream. He told me he and his buddies used to go there as a kid. He said that recently, prior to his telling any of his buddies that he was about to close the deal on his place, him and his buddies were at a friends wedding and all of them during the toasts reminisced about the good times they had there when they were young - and now he owns the joint, lol!

Anyway, it is a real nice room with very good equipment, well set up (obviously) in a great location right downtown. It is definitely worth a trip to anyone floating through the area. Picked up one of those shark T's while I was there, very cool.

Another great job, Donny.
