Reversing a call...days later

After reading the last 2 posts, I have to wonder....what did I miss in the original question?
Paul's teammate TRIED to take the loss, and when the other team tried to keep the game going, they even asked the league director for a ruling. Once that ruling is given, all arguments are moot. Even if you think you are right, you don't argue after a ruling is given.
Also I don't think Paul is pissed. I think he realized his team got an undeserved bonus after a bad ruling.
Did I read this wrong?

Ed, thanks, you read this correctly. I offered this question up for discussion; I just wanted to present the 2 choices that are faced here. If it was totally up to me, I'd take the loss. But I guess it lies in the hands of the second co-league operator as to what he will do.

There was a list of the BCA rules printed out, and the teams referenced that (hence my earlier remark about (mis)interpreting). When this issue had actually gone down, I was outside of the bar at the time with others who were having a smoke break, and I came in and learned of this minutes later, and how the co-league operator had already made his final call.

As far as I know, this type of premature 8B pocketing didn't happen on any other team that night. Or if it did, they all wisely knew the rules and accepted it as a loss.

Taking a win on a game that was not honestly won does not feel good to me. (I once called a foul on myself and no one else had seen it at all, and I ended up losing when opponent received BIH and ran.) On the other hand, as others have pointed out, some using the baseball analogy, it can set a precedent in which the final call is overturned later on.

I agree, this never should have been an issue in the first place.
