Have your friend send pics of the inside of the shaft. What material is in there, etc ... I bet many on hete would like to see/know that.

You must have a monster break. Or unlucky. Lol. Bummer for you. Sorry that happened. Aggravating as heck.
 
It's my understanding that the carbon fiber break shafts, of all brands, while similar in construction, have a thicker wall.
 
You're only talking 10 or 15 thousandths or so, but who knows with Rhino shafts. Unless you have a break shaft and a playing shaft side by side with the ferrules out, not sure how you could tell. You are the first person on this forum I have herd of breaking one of their ferrules, then to hear you broke two of them. What are the odds in that. When you look at blank break shafts for sale to cue makers, the specs on them most all have a wall thickness greater than their playing shafts.
Good luck with your search for a good ferrule, there is a lot of people on here and the cuemakers forum that can give you a good recommendation to that if you want.

I did compare them while both broken. Without a micrometer they look identical.

Did they start using those bcuz of customer feedback on sighting/aiming issues?? Sight plate??
I think they offer a choice of white or black depending on which you prefer?? I may be wrong, but that's what I heard. It's not supposed to affect playability. Simply for seeing the tip better for lining up. Anybody??

A corolla will run well over 200K miles. If the Rhino CB shaft gives u that,...I'm all for it.

If you're talking about the vault plate it's just another type of ferrule. The traditional ferrule goes around the shaft like a hoop so you need to turn the shaft down to accept it and then turn the ferrule to fit smoothly with the outside surface of the shaft. A vault plate where you just see a 1/4 inch or so is just a T plug that goes down in to the shaft. You see both on wood shafts. Given the wall thickness of cf you'll probably only see the plug type.
I don't know how anyone makes a cf shaft with no ferrule, you obviously can't put a tip on a hollow tube.

I’m just waiting on the return label. As long as there’s no further issues it’s a better experience than dealing with the big boys when I shattered their break cue.

When a company won't take back/replace something so new, but out of their warranty period, I do the old rebuy and return the damage one as if it is the new one after a week or two. Since you already talked to them, just get a friend to order the new one for you.

Yes, it is fraud, but I'd only do it in cases where I feel I'm being screwed over by a big company.

You either end up with two good shafts (and can sell one) or one good one and a refund.
