I am thinking about getting a Rhino shaft in 5/16 x 14 thread. Would one of you guys that have one be able to tell me the size of the pilot . My question to Rhino has not been answered yet . I have a couple of different shafts and 1I do m did not work at all on my current player B Owen . I hate to buy a Rhino just to send it back do to not fitting . Do not think they sell a flat faced one or I could go that route ,

They do sell a set of testers for 5/16-14 pins. These are really for testing the various pitches of pins, but you would solve your problem too. A side benefit is you might find one fits your cue better.

I bought one in 5/16x14. On the butt I wanted to use it on, the shaft stopped screwing on with about a 1/4" to go. I guess it wasn't drilled deep enough. I now use that shaft on a custom Jacoby 31" butt I had made for a playing cue length of 61". The threads were perfect for the Jacoby pin. Just some information.

I have one for a Schon. As I ordered it last December they sent I think a standard insert. It's slightly loose going on, but tightens up really great. If ordering again for a Schon, I would get their tighter joint. Fantastic shaft, so much so I ordered another in 12.5mm same as before. Never did get that shaft. After numerous tracking #'s that actually never were, and numerous excuses, lost in the mail, will send another, I finally had had enough after more than a month of excuses and gave them a deadline of three days to show me that the shaft with the latest tracking # was actually picked up and enroute. They couldn't do that and refunded my money.
While I still, even after all of this, still want another shaft from them, I see I would have to change the diameter as soon as my money was returned the 12.5 has no longer been available on their web site. I now see why I was never able to get my shaft from them even though I was given multiple tracking #'s.

buy from amazon they have lots stocked on there in the states and takes less than a week to recieve

Actually not available anywhere US, and or direct from Rhino that I could find. Been that way for over a month in the 12.5 version. I may order a 12.4 version or wait and order a radial version as I purchased a Jacoby cue also awhile back that the shaft will be done this week. If I like it as much as my Schons, I'll try one for that. Also by ordering direct and not through Amazon there is $20 off now.

Good info ,love Amazon and their great return policy . I may order all 3 joint testers ,see what works best and return them . I have a maple shaft that fit my Mottey and Black but the insert was too large diameter to screw all the way flush with my Owen .

The 5/16-14 fit really tight on a friend's cue, so I had to run a tap through it to get it to work. The pin was a common .308 major.
