Richard Black Bushka on the Bay

It's a very nce cue no doubt about it.
Though I do see what you mean. Looks like the veneer has been crushed down on one of the points I saw.
Either way, I wouldn't spend that kinda money on the bay or even here (depending on seller) with out confirmation from the builder.

I've been watching that auction for many of the same reasons you've mentioned. It does look like Richard's signature & writing, as well as his Bushka design.

The ebony inner point below the sig doesn't go past the sig, but the point above does. I've also never seen a Richard Black cue where the inlays overlap into the veneers. Very strange. I'd also note that those are not Richard Black tips on the shafts.

Signature date looks like July 25, 2003. I'm sure Richard would have been able to look over his records for verification if needed. Not on a Sunday morning on Labor Day weekend though.

Not my cue, don't know the seller. His last listing on this cue described it as being in brand new condition, which it isn't.

And not trying to step on any toes, but I'll be listing a RB Bushka without any of those issues in the next couple weeks, with no reserve.

Cues

You really have to watch fleabay, there is a supposed famous maker butt on there now for sale..The logo looks to be inscribed with a ball point pen instead of a stamp...Really sad, but I see cues becoming like art, a really good cuemaker quits or passes on and here come the forgers...:frown:
