Richard Black on e-bay

I wonder for how long?

That sucks when people do that. I know there is a penalty, but probably not enough to make a difference.
There's no penalty at all, except the people who like to bid at the last second are stiffed. The cue market is up and down and ebay caused these problems by raising there reserve fee to a dollar per 100 so on a high end cue you could spend 50 bucks just to list a cue and get zero bids so now it starts at 99 cents and it cost about a buck to list it and then the seller controls the auction and closes it for the right offer thru emails just like here on az. This may not sit well with some bidders but if your really interested in a cue you should express that by contactng the seller. Years ago the reserve fee was like 3 bucks for what ever amount you needed but ebay got greedy and said lets get our final value fee up front and switched it to these outragous fees now. I use to deal in cues alot on ebay but now its just a few and not much high end,I unloaded all of them. But I see alot of auctions closed before there time and it use to bother me but now I know the method better and understand the reasoning behind it.If I really want a cue I email the seller.

I had a cue for sale last week and got an offer and turned it down because I didn't think it was fair for the people bidding on the stick. I ended up not getting my reserve and relisted it and sold it. But I guess I think different than some. If I put up a stick without a "buy it now", I'm going to leave it up regardless if it sells or not.

If you do a search for the sellers name "nohobo", it shows he only has three items for sale now, a carrom board game , clay pool balls, and the Joss.

The Black looked like a nice old cue, I bet someone made him an offer that was too good to pass up.

I've stated before .. I think if the seller ends the listing (due to off eBay transaction or whatever the reason), the listing is still visible to us. The listing will have ended status.

I've corresponded with this seller and according him eBay pulled the listings due to some issues they had with how the listing was being described.

This I've seen before where eBay pulls the listing and it just disappears, so the seller's explanation makes sense.
