Would anyone in the forum be so kind to post a picture30+ ring growth shaft and compare it standard shaft. Also some pictures of old growth shaft.

After reading some threads, i still couldnt get a clear understanding of the terms.

One more question, is white maple shaft better in terms of quality compares to dark maple shaft. My perception that dark maple shows the maple is old which is better. Please explain if i was wrong.

Thanks
eka

Ring Growth

I refer all matters of wood to Hal Hawkins of Eau Claire,WI. PM me and I'll send you his address.

I don't live in the US.

Prob someone who's playing a 30+ ring growth shaft would be kindly enough to post the pic here.

I wasn't aware there was a 'standard' as to the number of growth rings found in cues, but maybe we can start a thread within a thread here.
I would like to know how, or if, a high number of growth rings would be of benefit to a shaft, a forearm, or even a handle for that matter.
Help us out on this one, cue makers.
