I learned today that my best friend Randy Burke (the pool table guy) died yesterday with cancer and covid. Indiana pool players are going to miss him for years to come. God speed to one of the biggest hearts I have ever known.

I'm not on Facebook but I believe there is a "go found me " in his name, his family could use the help.

Randy set up and worked on the tables in my current home room.
In the early eighties on a cold snowy night, a car slid through the front window/wall of the pool room I grew up in. The 6'x12' snooker table that was front and center was badly damaged. Randy not only rebuilt the table but was called upon two more times to relocate it when it changed hands.
Randy was a very good table mechanic, and a great guy.

He sounds like he was legendary and that’s a moniker few get to wear in life.
It seems like the best have departed and replacements are hard to come by.

Life is odd, uplifting, curious, cruel, enriching and moments like this, very sad.
Best friends can never be replaced but he can be remembered and celebrated.

Is this "Painter Dave" from the old days at The Mint?
