We're going out to Las Vegas in a couple of weeks for APA tourny. My buddy wants to know if the Riviera has a poker room for Hold Em. Anyone know?

Last time I was there they had poker tables but didn't have a dedicated room. That was a few years ago so that may have changed.

I was there last year and there were still poker tables across from where the Splash Bar was. I would be surprised if that changed.

Yes, they're there. It's the only place I've ever seen a live Royal Flush. It was on one of their 5/10 tables.

I would recommend walking a short bit down the street to one of the other casinos. There are lots of better places that have sit-and-go tournaments, cash tables, etc.

Hold Em

Matter of fact my friend was saying he'd like to get in some sit and go type tournys. Where do you recommend?

The Sahara just down the road, from what I remember, has a great poker room. cash tables, 2-3 tourneys a day, & a bad beat jackpot.

It's not a great poker room, but it is better than the Riviera. They do have the best low buy-in daily tournaments in Vegas though. They run at 11 AM, 7 PM and 11 PM. It's $65 total (including an add-on), draws around 100 players and pays out like $2,500 for 1st. At least, that was the info the few times I've gone and played.

The Riviera still has a poker area with 6 or 7 tables and usually run holdem poker tournaments twice aday. The Mirage which is a $5.00 cab fare away has a very nice poker room and also runs holdem tournaments every day. I would recommend to your friend to check out the Mirage.
